Big Walnut Schools Levy Committee To Offer Training For Volunteers

Many members of the Big Walnut community have joined together to volunteer and organize a campaign to pass the upcoming 7.5 mil levy scheduled to be voted on at the November 2nd election.  Volunteers are still needed and should contact the campaign's Volunteer Coordinator, Wendy Weiler at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. To ensure that all volunteers are well prepared to answer questions about the upcoming levy accurately, the campaign committee is encouraging anyone interested in volunteering to attend one of the following training sessions:

  • Tuesday, September 7th - 7:00 pm at the Big Walnut High School Auditorium
  • Wednesday, September 8th - 10:00 am at General Rosecrans Elementary School
  • Thursday, September 9th - 7:00 pm at the Big Walnut High School Auditorium


Be sure to attend the kickoff meeting for the levy campaign which will be held at the Big Walnut High School Auditorium on Thursday, September 9th at 8:00 pm.  This meeting will be a great beginning for the campaign effort as well as a wonderful opportunity to express your eagle pride!

Please join us to learn more about the complexities and pecularies of school funding with a focus on Big Walnut Schools.  Throughout this informational series you will learn about financial forecasts, budgeting, tax collections, bonds and levies as presented by Steve Mazzi, Superintendent, Felicia Drummey, Treasurer, Dick Maxwell, Clinical Professor of Ashland University, as well as other experts in the field followed by your questions and answers.
